Product: the report centre — from draft to archive

August 2026 · 4 dk

Writing reports is where preschool teachers spend most of their end-of-term time. NOVA ECE's report centre does not remove that work — assessment belongs to the teacher — but it shortens it by bringing the material ready.

Four report types

  • Family report: the developmental journey, written for parents.
  • Teacher file: detailed assessment for classroom use.
  • Institution report: the summary management needs.
  • Official format output.

A four-state lifecycle

Every report follows Draft → Approved → Shared → Archived, and each transition is written to the action history: who did which step, and when. That is not only traceability but a chain of responsibility. An unapproved report cannot reach a parent.

At the draft stage AI proposes text drawn from the real observation records gathered through the term. That text is a suggestion: the teacher edits, deletes, rewrites. Without approval no sentence moves to the next step, and every report carries the note that it passed human approval.

Wizard and output

Report creation runs through a two-step wizard: scope (child, term, report type) and content editing. On sharing, a notification reaches the parent, who sees the report on their own screen. A print output with the institution's logo is available for schools keeping paper archives.

Reports are generated only from real records. Where observation is insufficient the system does not force a report; it names what is missing.

The design principle in one sentence: AI increases the speed of writing, the teacher carries the responsibility. At no step do the two blur.
